Adapt and OCS Group win gold at the 2012 Techworld awards

Adapt and OCS Group win Techworld award

Adapt has become the joint winner of an award for Enterprise Project of the Year as a result of its ongoing work with OCS Group, one of the largest privately-owned total facilities management companies.

The companies were honoured at last week’s Techworld Awards ceremony, held in London. Since their launch, the Techworld Awards have become a significant infrastructure and networking awards event in the IT calendar, recognising both products and users, as well as highlighting innovation on all sides of the IT industry.

OCS Group is an international facilities management provider employing over 65,000 people worldwide, with a turnover in excess of £750 million.  With increasing expansion both in the UK and across its international operations, OCS Group is a market leader in the provision of property support services across a range of market sectors.   To support rapid global growth, the company designed a new, centralised Group IT structure and enterprise vision across all of its global regions, underpinned by a refreshed, resilient infrastructure implemented, managed and monitored by  eLINIA, the IT infrastructure outsourcing specialist that Adapt acquired in April 2012.

The physical move of all production systems from its in house datacentre in Crawley to eLINIA’s Slough datacentre was the first phase of a five-year outsourcing deal between the two companies.  The innovative hosting platform which was originally designed by eLINIA and is now offered as part of Adapt’s service portfolio, is proven to dramatically increase resilience and performance, with inbuilt disaster recovery that eliminates the risk and high costs associated with unscheduled downtime for OCS.  From a security perspective, the solution also delivers Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack mitigation appliances, firewalls, intrusion prevention and antivirus within the network, which is critical due to the sensitivity of the information being handled.

“We are delighted to win this award alongside our technology partner Adapt,” said Brian Horsfield, Group IT Director at OCS. “Outsourcing such a critical part of our IT strategy represented a completely new approach for us and the technical expertise offered by eLINIA and then Adapt were key to the success of this project.  The Adapt/eLINIA team has demonstrated exceptional customer service throughout our relationship, from the design and migration stages right through to the support we receive today. All in all, ROI has already been seen financially, operationally and commercially so we are extremely pleased that the success of this project has been recognised by the judges at Techworld.”

“It is very exciting to be recognised for one of our large-scale projects alongside such a forward thinking company,” said Simon Fisk, Sales and Marketing Director at Adapt. “This award illustrates the very reason why Adapt was so keen to acquire eLINIA; for its exceptional ability to deliver large scale, complex IT solutions that meet the exact needs of UK enterprises.  It’s also a credit to the combined eLINIA and Adapt team, which has consistently delivered the very highest level of service, even as the two companies integrated their operations.”
