adapt boosts customer offering with incorporation of Centrecore managed services

London, January 2009
In a further show of commitment to its customers, adapt, the independent managed services provider, today announced it has expanded its service portfolio with the incorporation of the Managed Services division of News International, Centrecore.

The move will further strengthen adapt’s offerings by providing a complete end-to-end service that spans content management and virtualisation to enhanced hosting and a full suite of bespoke managed services capabilities.

Centrecore, which was wholly owned by News International Newspapers, was established in 2000 as a Managed Service Provider (MSP) to provide enterprise-class information technology services and solutions to major businesses; with end-to-end services ranging from technical consultancy and implementation through to hosted and fully managed solutions.

Peter Knight CEO of adapt commented: ‘We evaluated a number of managed services providers and chose Centrecore because their technical expertise and proven capabilities will catapult the adapt portfolio overnight, securing our position as the leading managed services provider. In addition, the synergies between the two companies, in always keeping the customer in the line of sight, made it a logical partnership for adapt. We are confident that the incorporation has united two rapidly growing businesses that are passionate about their customers and which have pre-empted both the market and their customer’s needs by joining forces.’

With the incorporation, adapt strengthens its capabilities further in offering new and existing customers a pedigree of service excellence and technical expertise boosting the adapt services and solutions portfolio virtually overnight. Centrecore’s proven market heritage and technical capabilities will complete the managed services that adapt currently offers its customers to include Virtualisation, Cloud Computing, Enterprise Management and OS Management – to name a few.

Centracore has an established customer base, including Aegis Group, the pioneers in the worlds of media communications and market research. As the two companies integrate, adapt will look to build a growth strategy around bespoke customer packages, allowing it to respond to changing market requirements. This strategy dovetails with adapt’s existing customer approach to develop and deploy solutions that are designed to meet the individual customer requirements.

Martin Ford, Director, said: “This merger with adapt is an excellent opportunity to further build on Centrecore’s successes over the past seven years. The whole team is delighted to join adapt’s impressive and complementary service capability.”
