adapt gains ISO27001 certification
London, August 2009
ISO27001, a subset of ISO9000, is the international standard for an Information Security Management System (ISMS). It is the best practice specification that helps businesses and organisations throughout the world develop a best-in-class ISMS.
Last month, adapt underwent a six week internal review and audit to gain certification for the ISO27001. This certification is widely respected as it sets the standard for effectively managing business risk as well as demonstrating regulatory compliance.
In all, forty separate IT and HR processes were reviewed across the business. adapt needed to produce evidence of documented security processes during this audit. Examples of this include:
- Visitor log for outsiders coming into adapt
- Computer screen passwords and locking computers when away from desks
- Confidentiality agreements for staff regarding customer/company information
- Access to the data centres and other physical buildings of adapt
There will be more processes rolled out over the next several months. These standards and processes are put in place for the protection and security of adapt, its customers, suppliers, employees, and all physical and intellectual property.
This certification is a great achievement for adapt and shows it’s commitment to service and security excellence.
