World's most highly regarded Linux distribution platform chooses adapt

adapt delivers network capacity and infrastructure services to Canonical, the commercial sponsor of Ubuntu project. The contract worth over £5.5 million over 5 years includes Data Centre infrastructure in London with around 200kW of power and cooling capacity coupled with Transatlantic transport services delivered into Boston North America.

The challenge of this project was to extend the functionality of Canonical's primary multimillion data centre in the City introducing additional layers of diversity while delivering a solution that scales.

The solution integrates Canonical infrastructure in Boston North America, enabling Canonical to deliver its service on a robust platform split across a small number of strategic data centres.

Umbunto, one of the most highly regarded Linux distributions with millions of users around the world provides the world's best free software platform and it was essential for them to have a robust and scalable infrastructure services to provide the software globally to millions of users.
